A Few Words

Prepare To Be Annoyed Every day I watch the news and just sit there shaking my head in disbelief, frustration, and disgust. There's one question I ask myself daily:

WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE???????

We Told You So!

As you may have noticed, I have held myself back from writing about my thoughts on the war...as if anyone can't figure out which side I'm on. After yesterday's events of seizing control of Baghdad, it is now time for me to speak my thoughts.

Before yesterday, I feel it would've been a complete waste of time and effort to argue my support of this war against those that are anti-war. These people have an agenda, and they'll be damned if logic or reason is going to change their minds! I really have to wonder if after viewing the outburst of joy of the Iraqi people in the streets of Baghdad yesterday, the anti-war cult has seen the light yet. Iraqi citizens were chanting "USA, USA," they were kissing Marines and giving our troops flowers in gratitude, they were holding up pictures of President Bush that read "BUSH OUR HERO" and kissing those photos, constant "Thank you, Mr, Bush!" statements were being heard all over the streets of Baghdad. It was like Mardi Gras in Baghdad! DO YOU GET IT YET?????

This war was not unjust, nor was it illegal. The Iraqi people have been living in squaller and constant fear for 30 years. They have experienced unimaginable suffering at the hands of Saddam Hussein. If yesterday's display in Baghdad isn't enough proof for the people who claim America is there to conquer, not liberate Iraq, than I don't know what is. I hope President Bush is sitting back right now with a huge grin on his face thinking, "I told you so, now all of you can go piss off." And to France, Germany and Russia....you have the NERVE to want to be heavily involved in the rebuilding of Iraq, yet you didn't lift one finger to help us liberate this nation. No French, German, or Russian blood was shed, no sacrifice was made, not a dollar was spent. Not only did you in NO was assist us, you fought us tooth and nail trying to get here! Who do you think you are? In case you've forgotten, FRANCE ...I have yet to find a history book that recalls a French victory of any kind, so I think it might be wise to step back and keep your trap shut when it comes to opinions about war.

As a faithful viewer of the FoxNews Channel, I was watching "Your World" with Neil Cavuto yesterday with anticipation of his commentary about yesterday's events. His commentary literally couldn't have been stated better. I located a transcript of that commentary and will display it here, because I truly could not say it any better myself:

Stomping on Saddam

I want to talk to the French right now and the Germans and the Russians. I want to talk to all those who opposed the liberation of Iraq. I want to show you all something. I want to show you the joyous scene in downtown Baghdad today.

People oppressed. Now people free. People once hopeless. Now hopeful. People you forgot. But we remembered.

If you had things your way, they'd still be under the thumb of a dictator. And you were fine with that. We were not. You had no problem telling them, "live with it." We had a big problem telling them, "get over it."

Look at their faces. See their smiles. And feel their joy, their freedom and their fervor. How do you feel now? Still sure going the extra mile for them wasn't worth it? I don't think they'd agree.

While you were debating, they were suffering. While you were kowtowing to a dictator you knew was an ogre, they were enduring under a dictator they knew was even worse. They lived in huts and tenements. He lived in castles. But that didn't bother you.

They scraped by to get morsels. You skulked by to get contracts. They couldn't realize a penny from the oil that made Saddam rich. You didn't seem to care, as long as it made you rich.

You opted for profit over principle and deals that made a dictator richer and his people poorer. You argued the world had no right to interfere in a sovereign nation. But you won't waste a nanosecond to worm your way into this new nation. Now you want in, when for so long the masses have been kept out.

You are as crass as you are cunning, as phony as you are pathetic.

I ask you to look at their faces. Then look at your own. See the triumph of the human spirit and the coalition soldiers who fought and died for it. Then see your own pathetic selves, who -- even now -- can't come close to appreciating it.

And to Jeanene Garofolo...where's your apology? I distinctly recall during your interview on The O'Reilly Factor that you promised if this war doesn't end up being a horrendous tragedy with 500,000 Iraqis killed that you'd show up at The White House with flowers, a fruitcake, and an apology. Okay.....we're waiting!

I am keeping this article short and to the point, because I think the photos above truly say it all. Thank you to our troops ...thank you for fighting for us and our freedom and thank you for being the brave, respectable heroes that you are. Get home safe...we are proud of you all!
